It's common for people to share that after their first session they feel lighter, taller, and more connected to the ground. They feel more aware of their breath, looser in their joints, as though there is a buoyancy in their step... They have a sense of greater vitality!
The Gyrokinesis® Method
In 90min group classes, participants are taken through flowing and continuous movement patterns to decompress, strengthen, and invigorate the body. Work is done seated, standing, on the floor all without the use of equipment. Kaleena is also a Certified Gyrokinesis® Pre Trainer, in which she can offer the first course one would take to become a Gyrokinesis® Trainer.

Sessions are one hour long, and we are working together in a “boutique fitness” atmosphere. We start by checking in with how your body feels today. I meet you where you’re at and, in alignment with a thorough Gyrotonic session, we address your specific goals.

The GYROTONIC EXPANSION SYSTEM®
The GYROTONIC® Method
Essentially Strength Training for the Spine, The GYROTONIC® Method is a movement system designed for all walks of life. The unique equipment designed only for Gyrotonic® exercises guides range of motion in circular and undulating patterns while either providing assistance or resistance-- depending on one’s goals. Originating all movement from the spine, all the systems of the body are stimulated which results in a full-body, holistic exercise experience. Feeling good-- feeling strong, flexible, and powerful inspires an awareness and the desire to keep feeling good… to feed your body well, and overall, builds a sense of Vitality that we all aspire to achieve.
This system is for everyone! It’s for those looking to keep their bodies moving after retirement, or for people who are just starting to exercise their bodies for the first time in their lives. For those rehabbing an injury, this work is a great compliment to standard physical therapy. For dancers, the applications help to improve “turn out”, extension, flexibility, and core strength. And for those that are looking to compliment their gym routine or looking to up their athletic performance, this system can do that as well!
The GYROKINESIS® Method
In 90min classes, participants are taken through flowing and continuous movement patterns to decompress, strengthen, and invigorate the body. Work is done seated, standing, on the floor all without the use of equipment. Incorporating breath to inspire movement, and never “holding” any positions, muscles are lengthened and strengthened at the same time. In addition to weekly classes, this practice can be incorporated into one’s personal training regimen, and can be a way to do “homework” between sessions.
Training takes place in the only fully equipped GYROTONIC® studio on the Monterey Peninsula, Mindful Movement located in The Barnyard Shopping Village.
